Welcome to our new website!
We are in the process of upgrading the chapter website. There will be many new features and gizmos to help you get the information that you need and use.
Our layout has new menu items that will take you to pages that have the info you want. To help you acclimate to the new layout, here are the new features in a short format:
- Continuing Education
- The Calendar
- Local Chapter
- Golf Tournament Info - including photos
- Member Information
Photo Galleries of Chapter Events - From the Directors Desk
- National Chapter
- Sprinkler Age Online
- Articles of interest from National
- Resources
- Online Publications of interest
- Legislatures
- North Carolina
- South Carolina
There are also new RSS feeds on the Home Page. These include NFPA, other AFSA Chapter and other useful feeds.
For those who use Social Media such as FaceBook and Twitter, there is now a convenient tool to allow you to pass on article directly to your favorite Social Media applaince.
You can now comment on articles that are posted on the pages. This also has a feature called "Captcha" that is used to prevent "spammers". It requires the commenter to enter a code, displayed on the page, to send the comment. This insures that a "robot" is not sending junk to the site. You will also be able to sign up for the new newsletter.
There is also a "News Ticker" across the top of the page that gives you "breaking news" about important events. It will stop scrolling when you move the cursor over it and may have "live" links that you can click on and be taken to more information.
The new format has been tested on Internet Explorer, Opera, Firefox, Google Chrome and Safri on Windows. It has also been tested on Firefox, Google Chrome, Opera, and Safari on the Mac OSX platform. In addition, it has been tested on Firefox, Opera, Chromium, and Konquerer on the LINUX platform.
We hope you like our new improvements and if you have suggestions about how to make this site better, please contact John Turnage.

AFSA Carolinas History Past, Present And Future Shortly after the formation of AFSA National in 1981, several fire sprinkler contractors in the NC/SC area began discussing the formation of a local chapter. An early meeting consisting of Randy Price, Tom Waller, Andy Anderson, Dorrell Ford, C.O. Hipp and William C. Kluttz (among others), initiated the movement that was to become the AFSA Carolinas Chapter, Inc. (usually referred to as the Carolinas Chapter).

AFSA Teams With ExxonMobilNOTE: There may have been changes in the program since this article was published. An update is in process. DALLAS The American Fire Sprinkler Association (AFSA), North America's largest organization of fire sprinkler contractors, has announced a new fuel card program as a benefit for its members. Now AFSA members can get a nickel per gallon rebate when they enroll in AFSA's new Exxon/Mobil Fleet Card Program! Yes, gas is expensive, but those nickels can add up. In an industry where time is spent each day driving to the job site, fuel costs directly affect the bottom line on a daily basis. Saving money and tracking your fleet expenditures is critical. That's why the ExxonMobil Fleet Card offers one of the most generous rebate programs in the industry - saving you up to 5 cents per gallon - and a powerful, state-of-the-art tool to help you manage the cost of fueling your vehicles. It's an ideal combination to help make your job easier and save your business money. Last Updated (Sunday, 15 January 2012 21:03)
